About the shop

Hazel was my grandmother. Hyacinths were her favorite. The rest is ten years of early mornings.

I opened Hazel & Hyacinth in 2016 in a former shoe repair shop with a big north window and a very old radiator.

Most of our flowers come from four family growers within 60 miles of St. Paul. In winter we lean on bulbs, branches and dried flowers, so the buckets always have something local in them.

The cakes started as a joke: I brought a lemon bundt for the neighbors one Saturday. Now there is a line at eight.

  • 4 local growers
  • 0 floral foam, ever

Flowers should smell like something and last longer than the weekend.
